Rome will not go down in history as one of my favorite cities in Europe. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to enjoy this city as much as I’d hoped. However, the architecture and art of the past remains one of the most unrivaled.. and for that I am still glad I was able to experience Rome. Besides, they still have some of the best gelato I have ever tasted.
Seeing the colosseum up close and personal was like a dream come true. Here are some of the images from my newly bought Fuji xt2 before this trip.
Not Far from the Colosseum is the Roman Forum. As a love of history walking amongst architecture from 2,000 years ago I did not want to leave. Which is why I am glad I have these images.
And of course you can’t forget about the Vatican. A state within a city.. to get inside is to endure hours of waiting in line and then to be shoved endlessly by crowds once you’ve made it in to the Vatican museum.. which holds one of the largest collection of art in the world. That alone might be worth a repeated trip, if the chaos can be endured.
St. Basilica chapel is among one of the most impressive I’ve seen..
Rome might have disappointed in some ways but its art and history are unforgettable.. and yes, enjoyable.
